DIY-Dimensional birthday gamer DS invitations

By popular demand…or request. You wonderful readers out there don’t really demand, you just ask kindly. :o)
So I finally figured out a way to simplify this 3-dimensional invitation idea for all to easily do yourself.

These DS or Double Screen dimensional birthday gamer invitations are really cool. They fold up flat and open to be dimensional (meaning when you open, it actually pops up to be a box for the lower portion of the invite). You may have seen these in a past post I did while blogging about my son’s Mario Birthday party post.

~* Prep Time: approx. 5-7 minutes (Scoring & cutting each invite)

~* Creating Time: approx. 5-10 minutes (folding and gluing)

Supplies you will need for the Dimensional Invitation:

NOTE: If this dimensional invitation is requiring more time (or patience) than you have, then try my other gamer invite option, that requires no time at all. Just personalize and order. They will arrive in your mailbox ready for you to hand out to your guests. Note: These do not have a dimensional aspect to them, they are a flat fold invitation.

So first you will need to personalize and order your Printed invitations.

I made the printing and personalization nice and easy through Zazzle. Just click on the option that fits your birthday gamers big day. Whether it’s there 1st or their 18th birthday, there are options (scroll down) to choose from. These prints are high quality, professional prints, that I know you will be pleased with.

In order to acheive the dimensional output of this invitation you will need to order two parts from zazzle.

The first part is the Outside Print of the invitation (choose your coordinating Celebration Number below). Which tells the birthday year that is celebrating on the front outside, and top inside.

The second part is the Inside Printed (below) Piece of the invitation. This part I designed to hold two Inside pieces…so that no parts are wasted and you make the most of your money when ordering.  I hope I am not being confusing here…Let me try to clarify. If you are planning on needing 20 invitations total for your guests, then you would need to order 20 outside pieces, and only 10 inside pieces (since for the Inside Prints there are two per printed invitation).

Dimensional Video Gamer INSIDE Part of Invite

This Inside Print that fits with all the Outside Print options. You will want to order one of this part per every 2 of the Outside Print options.

Be sure that when following along with the How-to video and scoring instruction, when instructed to score on the backside there is a reason for this. The printed ink will look very jaggedy if you score on the front side of print. It will look like this below:

This is a non dimensional Thank you Card that matches these fun party invitations. This is a great follow up Thank you card to keep with your gamer party theme. Just a fun option, I thought I would include.

If the above dimensional invitation is requiring more time than you have, then try my other gamer invite option, that requires no time at all. Just personalize and order. They will arrive in your mailbox ready for you to hand out to your guests. Note: All orders include a white envelope.

I really like this invitation. But why do you have it under the free templates section?

      Hi there,
Thank you for bringing that to my attention, I suppose it was just an error on my part. Thank you for your good eye.
      Have a wonderful day.

I’m having a hard time ordering these. I can get as far as ordering the front and then the middle with zazzle, but where do I chose colors and what the inside will look like and say? Sorry! I’m just so confused.

      Hi there,

When you are on Zazzle ordering you can click on the text areas and input your personalized text. As far as colors, the only color available is white. I tried printing in other colors and they didn’t come out seamless, due to the fact that the backside of the notecards are unable to be printed with color. It just didn’t look very nice. Hope this helps, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to drop another comment/inquiry.
      Have a great day.
