Most birthday party invitations are typical in their layout, which is a folded note card style. I however like to find unique theme driven ways to create my party invitations. Sure all invitations need to have some basic information like Who, When, Where, Why, and RSVP. I like to add in a few others, like a map and a list of things the birthday child likes/enjoys. Presenting all this important information can be done in a variety of creative ways. Look to your theme for inspiration and get those creative wheels turning. Here is a really cute sample of an invitation I custom created for a Buzz Lightyear themed birthday party. I used foam dots to add dimension to Buzz Lightyear and the moon behind him. The important information dangled below on clear string accompanied by cute little green aliens. On the reverse side of the moon, there was a map for guests to familiarize themselves with where the party was taking place. This invitation definitely made a great first impression of the birthday party celebration. You bet party guests were excited to attend this birthday party.

The pictures were from a coloring book. I scanned them in, and applied them to the invitation.

WOW! I think I finally found the invites I have been looking for, these are Amazing! We'll be having our son's 2nd Birthday party next month and I have been searching for Unique invites. I see you stated you scanned these off a coloring book, but is there a possibility you might have the templates saved on file so that I would be able to do something similar? I seriously think you need to quit your job and do this for a living!
Thanks,
Pat

I did use a coloring book to get ideas and pictures ...Unfortunately I do not have a form of this available for sharing. However maybe you can use / find an image of Buzz on the internet that you may be able to use.
I chose the specific pose of Buzz for the Invites because the birthday boy especially enjoyed it when buzz was in flying pose saying those famous words " To Infinity and Beyond"!
Maybe you can customize your invites to something particular that your child likes about the character...:o)
I really appreciate your kind and encouraging words. Thanks.
